Frequently Asked Questions

Find the answers to all of your questions about Orlando hot yoga with this comprehensive FAQ from the experts at Orlando Hot Yoga.

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY HOT 26&2 YOGA CLASS?

Our classes are 90 or 60-minute sessions. Choose a class that fits in with your schedule and make sure to arrive 30 minutes early if you're a new student.

WHAT DO I BRING TO A YOGA CLASS?

  1. Yoga Mat
  2. Water (no sports drinks).
  3. Full-length bath towel

*These items can be rented or purchased at the studio for your convenience. We sell bottles of water, and also offer filtered water in the studio for those of you with your own water bottles.

WHAT DO I WEAR TO A HOT YOGA/PILATES CLASS?

Women typically wear workout shorts and a sports bra or top. Men typically wear swim trunks or mesh shorts. We suggest going with something you can move in and aren't afraid to get super sweaty. Just be sure to be comfortable.  Also, remember we offer locker rooms and showers for after class. You may want to bring a dry set of clothes to change into after class (because you will sweat!), or an extra dry towel to sit on for your car ride home.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT A YOGA/PILATES CLASS?

First-time students should come at least 30 minutes prior to the start time to fill out paperwork and get familiar with the studio. It is always a good idea to come to a class 10 to 15 minutes early to sit in the heated room before class starts to help your body get adjusted. Classes begin promptly as scheduled. Your timeliness is appreciated!

HOW MUCH WILL I SWEAT?

You will sweat a lot! It is important to drink lots of water prior to and after class. It is also important not to eat 2-3 hours prior to class.

WHY SHOULD I NOT EAT 3 HOURS BEFORE CLASS?

Most importantly we do not want you to feel nauseous. Some of the postures require bending forward and backward and it feels much better when you do not have a belly full of food. You will be using 100% of your body, from bones to skin and everything in between. Because of this, you do not want the process of digestion going on. You will be working your body enough in class - there is no need to add more work to your class that you cannot control.

WHY DO YOU DO YOGA IN THE HEAT?

The heat helps warm the muscles and prevent injury. Try to envision stretching taffy; it's tough and hard and tends to tear. But if you heat it first, it is easy to stretch and has no tears! The heat also helps cleanse and detoxify the body, making you feel more energetic and healthy.

I'M NOT ATHLETIC. SHOULD I EVEN TRY A CLASS?

All of our classes are judgment-free and welcome beginners. There are people of all levels of fitness, all shapes, all sizes, and all ages benefiting from yoga. Come and see how it can benefit you!
